JOHNSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL NAMED IN 2006 HOMECARE ELITE

(Stafford Springs, CT; October 10, 2006) – Home & Community Health Services, Inc. (H&CHS), Johnson Health Network’s visiting nurse and hospice agency, has recently been selected as one of the 2006 HomeCare Elite, the inaugural compilation of the most successful home care providers in the country. This ground-breaking review names the Medicare-certified agencies whose performance measures in quality, improvement and financial performance are among the top 25% of providers nationwide. Additionally, the 2006 HomeCare Elite indicates those providers ranked in the top 100 and top 500 of providers.

“We applaud the success of all the providers named to the 2006 HomeCare Elite,” said Bill Bassett, Senior Director of Market Strategy at OCS, Inc. “Being noted as one of the top performers in the nation in this very competitive environment shows that H&CHS is dedicated to quality and performance.”

Nancy E. Thompson, M.S., R.N., C.C.M., Executive Director of H&CHS, credits the agency’s staff with this prestigious recognition. “To be recognized as one of the top home health care agencies in the country is a tremendous honor and achievement for Home & Community Health Services,” she says. “The hallmark of this agency is our staff, and to be formally recognized for the exceptional high quality care provided to clients attests to this extraordinary group. I am so proud of their accomplishment and even prouder to be a part of such a high-caliber agency.”

Johnson Health Network President and CEO Alfred A. Lerz agrees with this assessment, adding, “We are very proud of this achievement. It is testimony to H&CHS’ unparalleled level of outstanding care and service.”

The 2006 HomeCare Elite is the first performance recognition of its kind in the home health industry. It is brought to the industry by OCS, Inc., the leading provider of healthcare informatics, and DecisionHealth, publisher of home care’s most respected independent newsletter, Home Health Line. The data used for this analysis was compiled from publicly available information. The entire list of the 2006 HomeCare Elite agencies can be viewed by visiting the OCS website (www.ocsys.com).
